Rim Patch will allow you to make a permanent repair to your cracked wheel in as little time as it takes to patch a tire. There are two ways you can do it after purchasing our kit. #1 Take the kit to your local tire shop. After they read the simple instructions, they will typically charge you as much as they do to patch a tire. Most shops are between $20 and $40 unless you have a large diameter wheel, which may cost more. #2 Have your local tire shop remove the tire for you and you can apply the Rim Patch yourself. Then take it back to them to have the tire reinstalled. Rim Patch is a product that will withstand the high temperatures of the wheel that are produced on an hour-long trip or aggressive driving. It is virtually unbreakable and once installed properly it can only be removed by grinding. Rim Patch is perfect for your large diameter wheels such as 24,26,28,30, and 32 inch which are so easily cracked from even a small pothole. If your wheel has multiple cracks... NO PROBLEM! Our record to date is 11 cracks repaired on one 24 inch wheel that is still being driven to this day. That isn't something you could ever do with an old-fashioned weld. We found out the hard way that welded wheels re-crack in the exact same spot 20% of the time, potentially ruining your tire. Our Rim Patch has a less than 1% failure rate after more than 5,000 patches installed. If your rim has multiple cracks and you try to weld them then there is a 90% chance they will re-crack. Why can't I just use my own tape and cleaner? Most tapes that you have access to are only good for up to 150 degrees and a wheel during a trip can reach almost double that.
